About The Gathering

The Gathering is a Bible-believing group of Christians who meet and share life together at Victory Acres Farm. It started as a place where the ministry guests at the farm could attend and be discipled. We have “gathered” a lot of places including an open-air pavilion, a fellowship hall, a garage, and most recently at the Himelick home.

We believe that God intended church to be more than a building or an performance to attend. We believe that the church should be a place to belong. The Gathering is a family – a safe place where people learn, grow, and develop as disciples of Jesus.

We do not aspire to be a “big church;” instead, we are focused on becoming a “deep church” – a community of disciples who share life together at a deep level and help each other towards Heaven.

We are a welcoming group and are always happy to have new friends join us, but we don’t advertise. If you find us, it will probably be because of relationship.

Our church meets on a farm. We see the farm not only as a beautiful place to meet, but also as a place where we can work together as a community of faith. We welcome guests from a variety of backgrounds. Volunteers are working somewhere at the farm nearly every day (except Sunday, a day we reserve for rest, worship, and reflection.)

Our mission as a church is to empower our members to become Christian Leaders who will engage in God’s Global Mission. While our focus is local, we are a missional church with a missionary heart. We are intent on growing healthy believers who will be on mission with God, whether that is across the street or around the world.

As an “elder led” congregation, our church has no paid staff members. Eric Himelick currently serves as the primary pastoral leader of the congregation.
